Re/frame: In reference to… - Session One

Thu, Apr 15, 12 – 1 PM

Most art is not fully original; artists draw inspiration from other art and the world around them. Some artists, however, take it one step further by co-opting imagery intentionally for their own various purposes. Whether it be in reference, irreverence, or an act of reclaiming, these artists have used imagery many of us may recognize to shine a new or different light on their reference (or source?) material.

Re/frame is a recurring program that delves into the Henry's extensive collection, highlighting a different group of objects each month. Join us for group discussions and the opportunity to see art rarely on public view.
